Wyoming defeats Nevada 85-81

LAS VEGAS (AP) Larry Nance Jr. scored 19 points and Leonard Washington scored 18 to lead Wyoming to an 85-81 win over Nevada to open the Mountain West Conference tournament.

Deonte Burton scored 27 points for the No. 9 seed Nevada (12-19).

Nance was 9 of 10 from the field for the game and had eight rebounds for the eighth-seeded Cowboys (19-12). Washington was 5 of 8 from the field.
