Analysis: The Saints announced Saturday that they have decided to keep Sharper on the physically-unable-to-perform list, which bars him from joining the active roster before Week 7 of the season. He is recovering from microfracture surgery on his left knee.

Still, he tied for the league lead with nine interceptions, returning three for scores, to help the Saints win their first Super Bowl. Sharper says he's hoping to return to New Orleans, but is keeping his options open.
