He did not throw an interception, fumbled once and was sacked four times. McCown added 31 rushing yards on four carries.
Analysis: McCown threw a 34-yard touchdown pass to Jermaine Kearse with 9:08 remaining in the first half as the Jets cut the Raiders' lead to 14-7. He later hit Kearse over the middle for an 11-yard touchdown with 8:42 remaining, and Raiders kicker Giorgio Tavecchio hit a 29-yard field goal with 25 seconds remaining.

Analysis: The 38-year-old quarterback opened his 15th NFL season by extending his personal losing streak to eight games dating to Oct. 11, 2015, when he led Cleveland to a 33-30 win over Baltimore. McCown is now 1-17 in his last 18 starts.

Analysis: The quarterback was down on a knee for a few moments before getting to his feet and jogging off the field toward the sideline before going down to a knee again as trainers attended to him. He's expected to be OK to start the opener, but you shouldn't be starting him.

Analysis: The well-traveled McCown, 38, played only one series with the Jets -- in the preseason opener -- and threw a touchdown pass. It was apparently enough to edge 2016 second-round pick Christian Hackenberg. Bryce Petty, who had three touchdown passes last week, left that game against the New York Giants with a left knee injury.

Analysis: The guaranteed sum makes McCown the favorite to begin the season as the Jets' starter, where he'll serve as a bridge to either Christian Hackenberg or a rookie. The 13-year veteran, who'll turn 38 on July 4, spent the last two seasons with Cleveland and made 11 starts for the Browns, throwing for 3,209 yards, 18 touchdowns and 10 interceptions in 13 overall games.

McCown went 1-10 in starts over two seasons with the Browns, who cut him Tuesday before he was due a $750,000 roster bonus in March.
Analysis: McCown battled injuries throughout his stint with Cleveland. The 37-year-old got a concussion in his debut for the Browns in 2015 and twice broke his collarbone. And while he didn't produce on the field, McCown was a valuable leader for the Browns, who are still searching for their franchise quarterback. McCown passed for 3,209 yards and 18 touchdowns with the Browns. He said at the end of last season that he wants to keep playing.
