AP Pro32 comments about Ravens
NEW YORK (AP) Comments on the Baltimore Ravens by the AP Pro32 panel (ranking in parentheses):
Chris Berman (ESPN, 2) - Fourth-and-29 by Ray Rice already part of football lore.
Clifton Brown (Sporting News, 7) - When you don't play well and win, that's the sign of a good team.
Cris Collinsworth (NBC Sports, 6)
Rich Gannon (CBS Sports/SiriusXM NFL Radio, 8) - Very inconsistent at times on both sides of the ball but they are 9-2.
Bob Glauber (Newsday, 6) - Ray Rice with the biggest play of the season for Baltimore, converting a fourth-and-29 to key an OT win over the Chargers. Ugly win, but one that all but clinches the AFC North race.
Rick Gosselin (Dallas Morning News, 4) - The 9-2 Ravens have won four in a row since their bye and are starting to muscle up on defense. Baltimore has held three of its last four opponents to 15 points or less.
Clark Judge (CBSSports.com, 3) - Ray Lewis' possible return could spoil his candidacy for Cheerleader of the Year.
Ira Kaufman (Tampa Tribune, 5) - Take a bow, Ray Rice. You just turned in the play of the year.
Pat Kirwan (SiriusXM NFL Radio/CBSSports.com, 6) - The Ravens convert a fourth-and-29 that saved them from a drop in the rankings. Baltimore looked much better in overtime than they did all day against the Chargers. Next week the Steelers come to town.
John Lynch (Fox Sports, 8) - Fourth-and-29 and they convert. I think Ray Rice is still running. Wow! The Ravens continue to stack W's.
Alex Marvez (Foxsports.com, 6) - As again evidenced by last Sunday's 16-13 overtime win at San Diego, no team needs home-field advantage in the playoffs more than the Ravens.
Dan Pompei (Chicago Tribune, 2) - Converting a fourth-and-29 with the game on the line? Ray Lewis coming back soon? Terrell Suggs' miraculous recovery? Somebody up there likes the Ravens.
