He allowed two runs on five hits.
Analysis: The injury is the latest setback in a miserable season for the Gray, who's already been on the disabled list with a right shoulder injury. Gray, a 2015 All-Star who last season finished third in AL Cy Young balloting, had the highest ERA in the majors (5.84) going into Saturday.

Analysis: The right-hander, though, has a 6.88 ERA over those three outings while allowing five homers in 17 innings.
|July 22 12:38 PM PT1:38 PM MT2:38 PM CT3:38 PM ET15:38 ET19:38 GMT3:38 12:38 PM MST2:38 PM EST3:08 PM VEN23:38 UAE2:38 PM CT-Gray was rocked for seven runs in five innings Thursday against Tampa Bay to fall to 4-9 on the season.
Analysis: After turning in two straight solid starts, Gray turned in another dud that's been all too common during his disappointing season. Oakland's expected ace is now 1-8 with a 6.45 ERA in 14 starts since April 27.

Analysis: Gray is 2-1 with a 3.11 ERA in six career starts against the Rays and 2-2 with a 7.01 ERA in five starts against the Eastern Division this year.

Analysis: Gray has pitched better since the start of June, limiting opponents to two runs or less in five of his last seven starts. He's still having a terribly disappointing season for fantasy owners.

Analysis: Gray had posted a 3.23 ERA over his previous five starts. He simply isn't a fantasy option during this surprisingly disappointing season.

Analysis: Though Gray hasn't won since April 22, he's allowed two or fewer earned runs in three of his four June starts.
|June 16 11:07 AM PT12:07 PM MT1:07 PM CT2:07 PM ET14:07 ET18:07 GMT2:07 11:07 AM MST1:07 PM EST1:37 PM VEN22:07 UAE1:07 PM CT-Gray couldn't build on back-to-back solid outings Wednesday when he gave up five runs over six innings in a 7-5 loss to the Rangers.
Analysis: Gray had surrendered three runs over 12 2/3 innings in his previous two starts. The right-hander is 3-6 with a 5.54 ERA this season after going 14-7 with a 2.73 mark a year ago.
|June 11 12:09 PM PT1:09 PM MT2:09 PM CT3:09 PM ET15:09 ET19:09 GMT3:09 12:09 PM MST2:09 PM EST2:39 PM VEN23:09 UAE2:09 PM CT-Gray was the tough-luck loser Friday when he allowed two runs and five hits over 7 2/3 innings in a 2-1 loss at Cincinnati.
Analysis: Since going 0-4 with a 10.38 ERA over a five-start stretch, the right-hander has given up three runs over 12 2/3 innings in his last two. However, he's been given just three runs by the offense in those outings.
|May 22 12:39 PM PT1:39 PM MT2:39 PM CT3:39 PM ET15:39 ET19:39 GMT3:39 12:39 PM MST2:39 PM EST3:09 PM VEN23:39 UAE2:39 PM CT-Oakland has placed the struggling Gray on the 15-day disabled list with a strained right trapezius muscle.
Analysis: Gray received an anti-inflammatory shot in his shoulder following Friday's start against the Yankees but said his condition did not improve. The 2015 All-Star's season has been a disaster thus far, as he's 3-5 with a 6.19 ERA in nine starts and has posted a wretched 10.38 ERA over his last five.
|May 21 12:34 PM PT1:34 PM MT2:34 PM CT3:34 PM ET15:34 ET19:34 GMT3:34 12:34 PM MST2:34 PM EST3:04 PM VEN23:34 UAE2:34 PM CT-Gray was roughed up again Friday, this time by the Yankees.
Analysis: The 2015 All-Star was tagged for five runs and walked four batters while lasting just 3 1/3 innings of Oakland's 8-3 loss. One of the biggest early fantasy disappointments, Gray now owns a 6.19 ERA and has been rocked for 25 earned runs and a .337 average in 21 2/3 innings over his past five outings.
|Apr. 28 2:46 PM PT3:46 PM MT4:46 PM CT5:46 PM ET17:46 ET21:46 GMT5:46 2:46 PM MST4:46 PM EST5:16 PM VEN1:46 UAE (+1)4:46 PM CT-Gray fell to 3-2 on Wednesday.
Analysis: Gray lasted only two innings in the shortest start of his big league career. He allowed four runs, two hits and four walks, throwing 65 pitches. "Tonight, I didn't have anything," he said. "I don't remember a start like this, where every breaking ball I threw was awful and I couldn't locate anything."
