Braves place O'Flaherty on DL with strained elbow

ATLANTA (AP) The Atlanta Braves have placed left-hander Eric O'Flaherty on the 15-day disabled list with a left elbow strain and called up right-hander Cory Rasmus from Triple-A Gwinnett.

Rasmus, the younger brother of Toronto outfielder Colby Rasmus, will be with the team for Saturday night's game against the Los Angeles Dodgers. The 25-year-old Rasmus will be making his debut in the major leagues.

Manager Fredi Gonzalez says O'Flaherty complained of discomfort in the elbow after Friday night's game.
