Analysis: The 6-foot-2, 195-pound Douglas originally signed with Memphis as a free agent on Dec. 5 under the NBA's hardship rule, which allows teams to temporarily create an extra roster spot if it has at least four players who are sick or injured for at least two weeks. Douglas, 30, appeared in six games as a reserve, helping the Grizzlies to a 5-1 record, and averaged 5.8 points, 2.7 rebounds and 2.7 assists in 17.8 minutes before he was waived on Dec. 15.
